Welcome to the first of many weekly newsletters we have planned to keep you entertained, informed, and hopefully engaged to keep you coming back for more. Though the main focus is on Amanda and I, we have also asked a few friends to help us out each week to not only give you more to read and enjoy, but to also do the things we cannot do. The main focus of Zestworld is to not only show you our latest work in comics and everything related to them, but for us to get to know each other better and have a ton of fun in the process.
Another part of this weekly hangout is to keep everyone informed and to let you all know what we have coming up and where we will be traveling to so we can have one of our in person interactive get-togethers that we have planned. As well, with this newsletter we want to also being you guys closer into our world and be able to offer exclusive first looks and actual opportunities to get things that just will not be offered elsewhere. As well, we will be looking at this as an opportunity to share our past, give advice and help everyone LEARN how to do things in the comic world.
Amanda and I have a company named PAPERFILMS and an entire website we built that not only covers what we have done in our time as professional comic creators, but offers exclusive books, digital downloads and original art. The name Paperfilms comes from me spending half my life explaining to people that, for some reason or another, dismiss comic books as something “kids” read. It can be exhausting at times, but when coming up with a name for our publishing venture, calling them films on paper seemed a natural thing, and no one owned the name PAPERFILMS yet, so we jumped on it. This is just so you know when you see that logo on everything where it came from.

WHO ARE THESE GUYS:
At its most basic, here is who we are in one paragraph each. I figure this is needed for those who stumbled in and wanted to catch up with things. They are only tip of the iceberg bios, but it’s a start.
Amanda Conner:
Amanda Conner is an award-winning writer and illustrator that has worked on many of the top titles in comics, such as LOIS LANE, CODENAME: KNOCKOUT, and BIRDS OF PREY for DC Comics, X-MEN UNLIMITED for Marvel, GATECRASHER for Blackbull Comics (which she also co-created), and THE PRO, an Eisner-nominated creator-owned book for Image Comics with Jimmy Palmiotti and Garth Ennis. Recently she worked on the highly successful BEFORE WATCHMEN: SILK SPECTRE series with Eisner-winning creator Darwyn Cooke and continues to be one of the top cover illustrators in the field. Amanda’s work can also be seen outside the comic-book community, in such places as ABC’s Nightline, New York Times, MAD Magazine, Arm & Hammer, PlaySchool, and Nickelodeon. She has also done monthly spot illustrations for REVOLVER magazine and has enjoyed a huge success with the DC Comics title HARLEY QUINN with Jimmy Palmiotti. Her collaboration with pop sensation Ingrid Michaelson was industry celebrated. Additionally, her work has been featured and spotlighted on the award-winning CBS comedy series The Big Bang Theory, where her artwork was used for multiple episodes. Amanda continuously produces cover work for Marvel Comics, DC Comics, and an assortment of independent titles including her own company Paperfilms.
JIMMY PALMIOTTI:
Writer, Editor and Creator. Multi Award winning character creator with a wide range of experience in advertising, production, consulting, editorial, film writing, development and production, media presentation and video game development. Just a few of his clients include Nike, Nickelodeon, Universal pictures, Disney, Warner Brothers, DreamWorks, Lion's Gate, Vidmark, Starz, Fox Atomic, Alliance films, New Line, Spike TV, MTV, 2kgames, Midway, Radical games, Activision, and THQ games. Co-founder of such companies as Event Comics, Black Bull Media, Marvel Knights, a division of marvel comics, and the current Paperfilms, where he is partners with Amanda Conner. Together they have created and co-created numerous universes, comics, TV series and characters including: The New West, Monolith, 21 Down, The Resistance, The Pro, Gatecrasher, Beautiful killer, Ash, Cloudburst, Trigger Girl 6, Thrill Seeker, Trailblazer, Ballerina, The Twilight Experiment, Killing Time in America, Rage, Queen Crab, Retrovirus, Pop Kill and the TV series, Painkiller Jane and the feature film Random acts of Violence. Other titles involved with are hit series Harley Quinn, DC Comics relaunch into the Wal-Mart nationwide stores, Powergirl, Jonah Hex, and several other titles. Several of his contributions for both DC and Marvel can be found in major motion pictures and TV series for Marvel and DC, including Black Panther, Daredevil, Suicide Squad, Harley Quinn animated and more.
