Some big news dropped earlier this month: I'm writing a Daredevil crime novel, as part of Marvel's new line of adult crime prose novels! You can read the full announcement here at PW. Honored to bat cleanup behind Lisa Jewell's Jessica Jones book and my dear friend SA Cosby's Luke Cage novels. I'll have more to share as the release gets closer (2025!), but suffice to say, this is huge for me. I'm a lifelong fan of the character and so excited to build off the complex, engaging story so many awesome creators have build - particularly the work of greats like Brubaker, Bendis, Zdarsky, Waid, Soule, Miller, Chichester, Nocenti, and more.
In terms of other Marvel work, we just released the final part of my X-Men Infinity Comic, starring Polaris/Lorna Dane! Response to this arc has been amazing, and I'm so grateful I got the chance to work with Alberto Albuquerque and the entire team to spotlight one of the best mutants ever. You can read the entire arc on Marvel Unlimited. I also got the chance to discuss the story at AIPT's X-Men Monday, with the great Chris Hassan!
Also, in case you missed it, my Star Wars one-shot, STAR WARS: RETURN OF THE JEDI - THE REBELLION #1 hit a few weeks ago, featuring art by Matt Horak, Brent Peeples, and more - starring icons like Ackbar, Mon Mothma, and Kes Dameron and Shara Bey. It's a high-stakes conspiracy thriller set in the days leading up to the Battle of Endor, and can serve as a soft prequel to my Poe Dameron YA novel, FREE FALL. You can grab it wherever comics are sold!
Also, this October, I've got a short Spider-Man story as part of the first issue of MARVEL ZOMBIES: BLACK, WHITE, & BLOOD, with stunning art by Javi Fernandez. Check out the panel above for a tease of what's to come - and please let your retailer know you want a copy!
This month also saw the release of KNIGHT TERRORS: GREEN LANTERN #2, which concludes our two-part Sinestro story, illustrated masterfully by Mario Foccillo, and sharing space with a can't miss Hal Jordan story by regular GL writer Jeremy Adams and artist Eduardo Pansica! It was a treat to get into Sinestro's head, and I hope you all enjoyed it. I got to chat about working on the project over at the official DC Comics website, too!
Trying to keep this edition of the newsletter lean and mean, so here are some quick hits!
There's new chapters of THE AWAKENED and THE LEGENDARY LYNX available! Subscribe if you haven't so you can be alerted when new pages are uploaded.
I've got a story in the second issue of AHOY! Comics' PROJECT CRYPTID series, pairing with pal and super-talented artist Steve Bryant! It's a sequel to a short story I wrote for Robert Greenberger's great THRILLING ADVENTURE TALES anthology, and it was truly a thrill to jam with Steve on this. Hopefully we can do more together soon.
In terms of travel, I had a great time at Terrificon in CT and Wellsboro Comic Con in PA over the last few weeks, and I'll be at Bouchercon later this month. SECRET IDENTITY is nominated for the Anthony, Barry, and Macavity Best Novel awards, so fingers crossed! You can also find me on the following panels:
