Welcome, friends! Feels good to be here. So, we're off and running! The first brand-spankin-new GRRL SCOUTS: DELUXE comic debuts tomorrow, FRI, JULY 29! I'm super excited about this new adventure! Feels great to be able to stretch my creative legs and write and draw my own stuff. Oh, I'm also coloring and lettering these new comics, too, but you probably already knew that. You can subscribe to these snazzy new comics right HERE if you haven't already.
This first comic is a basic introduction to the cast and the world of the GRRL SCOUTS universe; just a way of welcoming new and old readers alike and letting you know who the players are in this funky univierse. I'm designing these new DELUXE comics so that they can be a great jumping-on point for new readers since these works won't be bogged down in past continuity. These new strips will be mixing sharp humor, cartoony violence, pop culture satire, psychedelic sensibilities, and tantalizingly sexy imagery to bring you the freshest, most unique comics available anywhere! I'm pumped to be taking this journey with you guys! Let's have some fun, and hey, please spread the word about what we're doing here if you don't mind! I thank you very much!
AIPT COVERS THE GRRL SCOUTS: DELUXE LAUNCH! Hells yeah! Our good friends over at AIPT Comics were cool enough to cover the launch of the new GRRL SCOUTS comics! Oh, and we gave them a bunch of exclusive, sneak-peek type art that you can't see anywhere else! Check it all out right HERE
CARTOONIST KAYFABE THIS WEEK!
I had the distinct pleasure of being a guest on the legendary CARTOONIST KAYFABE YouTube Show this week! Ed Piskor and Jim Rugg are old friends of mine. Great dudes. I have a lot of respect for them and, man, we had a good time hanging out and talking shop. We did 4 different videos that inlcude: (1) The Official Kayfabe Shoot Interview where I talk about my career, etc, (2) Batman Year 100 Issue 1 where we review and discuss Paul Pope's groundbreaking first issue of this seminal Batman work from 2006, (3) the Martin Emond vid where we discuss the brilliantly bizarre work of this underrated badass artist who illustrated White Trash, several Lobo books for DC and more, and finally (4) the Generation X Underground Special, a very strange indy-style X-Men one-shot that I wrote, penciled, inked, and lettered for Marvel Comics back in 1997. Probably one of the strangest single-issue books Marvel has ever published! Check out the videos HERE
ECCC IN AUGUST!
I'll be a guest at the Emerald City Comic Con next month, AUG 18-21! This is always a really great show! Cruise through and say hey! I'll be at Artist Alley Table Z-06 selling original art, comics, trades, prints, mini-comics, and more! More info on the con HERE
